Benelli battery and start up issues

My dad been having some serious issues with his Benelli. One day it cut off completely and drained the battery. He then replaced the battery and it starts right up with no check engine light but heres the problem, if he gives it any gas or ride for about 10 minutes it just shuts of. After that, he has to let it cool down for 10-30 minutes before it will start again, but then it only runs for a little while before doing the same thing. Hes really worried this could be something serious. Thoughts?

I've seen this on another bike, but I think it could be the problem, an overheating fuel pump. If it starts to fail it will overheat and stop pushing fuel to the engine and it stalls. You might want to chek the relay as well

It's an overheating fuel pump for sure. If it's a problem as big as that, I evaluate it as serious and I'm worried it has to be checked already. Bring it to the dealer if you're the overthinking type.

It's not about overthinking or something like that. There's a problem making the bike almost unusable, so it's best to take it to a mechanic. Not sure if there's a way to check if the pump is overheating

it sounds like a thermal related failure. Common culprits are the stator, voltage regulator/rectifier, or sometimes the ignition coil or fuel pump. When they heat up, their internal resistance changes or components fail, cutting power/spark/fuel. Once cooled, they temporarily work again
